I believe we’ve been collectively asleep and that this is the moment where through effort and faith, we can wake up to the real dream. In our sleep, we have been convinced that we are separate from one another, through race, gender, and religions … where the idea of the ‘thems and us’ s has insinuated itself deeply into our hardened hearts—but it has failed to turn our hearts to stone. Mr. King understood that a dualistic world was not real…. that we are all interconnected to each other and to nature in a powerful way and that it is a lie to act without this consideration. My dream is a community where this oneness is the key -- where we understand that we are here to work to make all of our lives more comfortable and together, to lay the seeds of peace for everyone on the planet. |
